Treasure Island is the bed where Veronica Cross planted her treasures. Veronica was a renowned British gardener whose garden at Lower Hopton in Herefordshire was home to a quite remarkable collection of snowdrops and peonies. Amongst her notable contributions is the hybrid snowdrop Galanthus Veronica Cross, a cross between G. gracilis and G. plicatus 'Trym'. In addition to Veronica Cross, she discovered and cultivated other unique varieties such a Pieces of Eight and Treasure Island. Veronica left a lasting impact on the horticultural community, inspiring galanthophiles worldwide. Treasure Island is simply beautiful. It is like a golden ‘Mighty Atom’ of perfect balance and substance. Vigorous and grown very well here at Altamont.
