Your garden will be in full swing and July is a wonderful month to enjoy the fruits of your hard work through the winter and Spring months! This wonderful summers month brings plenty of colour and growth and you need to be trying to keep your garden looking its best;
Jobs for the garden in July
- Cut back early flowering Perennials – Lupins, Delphiniums & Geum’s – remember to feed and water them well.
- Raise the blades on your mower to prevent grass burning. Doing so will help your lawn stay greener, healthier and more resilient through the summer months.
- Continue deadheading your Roses. Foliar Feed with your preferred Rose Feed.
- Treat Box Hedging with Probio Crann to prevent blight. It will be tempting to trim your hedge but don’t. Leave this job until September. Trim deciduous hedges once the birds have finished nesting.
- Feed & water your Hydrangeas regularly to ensure healthy growth and flowering
Roberts Top Tip
- When you get a moment, fill the gaps in your border with pots of Lillies, Dahlias or other later flowering bulbs or tubers. Doing so will keep your garden looking vibrant through the rest of summer and into the Autumn months.

A good pair of quality Felco secateurs is one the most important tools for all gardener. All parts are replaceable. Look after them, try not lose them! and they can last a lifetime. They are Ideal for:

How to use:
- Make clean cuts just above healthy bud or leaf node
- Position the sharp blade on the side of the stem you wish to keep
- Avoid twisting of crushing stems
- Cut a slight angle to help water run off the cut surface
