There is no denying it: Climate change is leading to more erratic weather patterns and generally to hotter, dryer summers. The impact on our gardens is profound. In the Southwest of Germany, these changes are particularly pronounced and gardeners there are trying to adapt their plantings accordingly. This talk will show you some of the plantings Anne has designed in the past years with hot, dry summers in mind. She will take you through the seasons in her own gravel garden and highlight those plants – both shrubs and perennials – that seem to thrive under these changed conditions.
Short Biography
Anne C. Repnow lives and gardens near Heidelberg in Germany. After studying Zoology at Oxford, she embarked on a career in scientific publishing, which kept her from in-depth gardening for many years. However, she managed to squeeze in training courses in horticulture and garden design. She visited and studied well-known gardens, both in Germany and Great Britain, and gained valuable experience experimenting with plants in her own gardens. Eventually, she followed her heart and left publishing to become a garden designer. She has a great interest in snowdrops, winter gardens and drought resistant plantings.
